Functional Lab Testing
Test...don't guess.
Functional lab testing is chosen on an individual basis. Testing is used to get clarity on what could be driving your symptoms, and therefore guide your treatment plan. At your initial appointment, we can discuss the best possible testing options based on your health history, symptoms and health goals.
Below are some of the functional labs I use in my practice.

Comprehensive Hormone Panel
Microbiome Gut Analysis
The DUTCH test is an advanced comprehensive assessment of your sex hormones, adrenal hormones (cortisol), melatonin and organic acids. Whether you're male or female, it offers detailed insights into possible root causes to help guide personalized treatment protocols. Hormones are the chemical messengers of the body and play a vital role in energy production, mood, libido, menstrual cycles, skin health, sleep-wake cycles, stress and so much more!
The gut microbiome (the bacteria and microbes in your gut) are connected to many functions in the body and influence nutrient status and digestion, immunity, metabolism, hormones, mental health, skin health and more. The GI-Map is a stool test that identifies bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites and other microbes in the gut, revealing imbalances, infections, and markers for inflammation, digestion, detoxification, and gut barrier function.
Gluten & Leaky Gut Analysis
Mycotoxin / Mold Testing
Mold exposure can negatively impact many of the systems in the body, and symptoms can manifest in various and ambiguous ways acutely and chronically . Through comprehensive mycotoxin testing, we can assess your body's toxic burden and identify the specific mold toxins that may be impacting your health. With this data a targeted and holistic treatment plan can be created to support your body's detoxification pathways.
Wheat and gluten sensitivities can often cause digestive discomfort, intestinal permeability (leaky gut), low vitamin D levels, difficulty concentrating (brain fog), fatigue, skin inflammation (eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis), chronic headaches or joint pain. The Wheat Zoomer is an at home blood drop test that identifies celiac and non-celiac gluten/wheat sensitivity, gluten-related autoimmunity, and any intestinal damage. This test has been validated at 99% specificity and sensitivity.
Organic Acids Testing
Organic acids are byproducts of cellular metabolism that are produced by living organisms. By measuring these compounds we can gain insight into the functioning of various metabolic pathways, such as microbrial activity, energy production, detoxification, neurotransmitter function, and nutrient needs. An organic acids test provides a comprehensive nutritional and metabolic snapshot of your overall health.
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
Minerals and heavy metals are often deposited into the hair tissue, and by assessing a hair sample we can find clues into how various systems in the body are working. A Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis can also give us information of how your body has been responding to stress for the last 3 months (resiliency). Toxic metals rarely remain in the blood or urine for long, however can be found in the hair tissue after exposure.
Please keep in mind: as a functional nutritionist, I am NOT a doctor. I do not make medical diagnoses. While I can work collaboratively with you and your other practitioners, functional nutrition is not a replacement for conventional medicine.
